Wisdom VI : Dismount the Dead Horse
Upon the vast and flowing plains, buffalo respected as a survival context,
The Dakota nurture ancestral wisdom, passed from one generation to next.
A nugget of brilliance, like the soft gold found in the sacred Hills surmounted,
Suggests “when you discover you ride a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount it.”
Be thankful for the war and hunting pony that was obliged to carry so far,
Honoring the Spirit Horse for faithful transportation as a true star.
Sadly sometimes the travel companion, though faithful, fails,
Seemingly at a poor time, especially as we embark on new spiritual trails.
Dakota advice makes great sense when it is the new trail we consider,
And that it may be so different that the horse would not help, but hinder.
When you discover you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.
Our current progress to next levels are based on old principles recounted,
Thus possibly the current schemata horse is dead, and should be dismounted.

I could not possibly agree more with the truth here; further, it is wonderfully expressed!
